Former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said issue of Pakistani degrees does not only exist in foreign countries but it is there in Pakistani assemblies as well.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said this while addressing participants of a function here in a local college Wednesday.
He held “we want a pious leadership and not a corrupt leadership in the prevailing situation.
The economic growth is not picking up at the pace the population is increasing, he underlined. No government had ever focused on promotion of education in the country, he charged.
Government should patronize private education institutions for the sake of promotion of education so that education sector could fetch more investment, he demanded. Education standard is deteriorating in the country, which needs to be upgraded, he stressed.
During the Matric examination students had to face difficulties, he regretted. Young students are future of the country and the day is not far off when the young generation will bring about revolution, he hoped. “I say change will come in the country through youth”, he hoped.
He refused to give his stance on imposition of 15 percent flood tax through ordinance by the president Asif Ali Zardari.
