Target killing toll reaches to 16 after seven fresh killings

Seven persons, including one sub-inspector fell prey to fresh bloody target killing, bringing the toll to 16 in 24 hours. Two policemen and political activists of various parties are also included among the victims.

Unknown target killers killed a Sunni Tehrik activist Farooq Qadri in Ranchoor lines area, whose dead body has been shifted to Civil Hospital. Tensions spread in the area, whence unidentified forced closure of various shops and businesses in the area.

Unknown killers also managed to kill a 40-year old MQM activist Akhlaq s/o Rafiq, who belonged to (MQM) unit 157 of Liaqatabad area. His dead body has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital.

In yet another case of target killing, police inspector Muhammad Iqbal, posted at Orangi police station as an investigation officer, and his 19-year old son Umair were shot dead; while unknown persons also shot dead 32-year old PPPP activist, Ashraf Ali.

Meanwhile armed persons attacked some political party activists, busy hanging paper flags in the Boat Basin Thana at late night, killing 18-year old MQM activists Faisal and injuring six others.

A 45-year-old ASI (assistant sub inspector), Sohail was killed due to firing in Orangi Town’s Fareed Colony. He was serving in the Taimuria Thana, and was killed by pillion riders, after luring him out of his home.

30-year old Haji Ahmad s/o Aziz, 23-year-old Rashid, and a 25-year-old unidentified person were also among those killed.
