JI files adjournment motion against release of Raymond Davis

Jamaat-e- Islami (JI) has filed adjournment motion in senate against release of US citizen Raymond Davis.

The motion has been filed by JI senators including Professor Khurshid Ahmad, professor Ibrahim Khan and Aafia Zia Thursday. Motion is based on several references from news items of  print and electronic media. It was said in the motion that release of Raymond Davis was tantamount to murder of justice and a severe blow to country’s integrity.

The role of all characters involved in the matter of Raymond Davis including federal and provincial governments, subordinate judiciary and intelligence agencies is a question mark for the whole nation, motion further stated.

The entire nation is asking question if there is any law or institution in the country to provide protection and justice to a Pakistani citizen, motion said.
