Pakistan and UK have agreed on launching joint efforts for curbing drug trafficking and human trafficking.
This was said by interior minister Rehman Malik, British immigration minister Damian Green and Baroness Sayeeda Warsi Cabinet Minister while addressing a joint press conference here Tuesday.
Interior minister A Rehman Malik said British home department and Pakistani task force would work jointly in this respect. “We are grateful to British prime minister for extending help to Pakistan in seeking access to European markets and providing relief assistance for flood affectees”, he remarked.
“We are taking stringent measures on the issue of illegal immigrants and in this regard several officers have been nabbed by the FIA for sending Pakistanis abroad through illegal means”, Malik said.
He warned illegal Pakistanis living in UK that strict action would be taken against them if they are caught.
He said that the UK Minister has brought his attention towards the matter of kidnapping of UK nationals coming into Pakistan for investment purposes and in order to remove this reservation we have established a task force so that if any foreigners come to Pakistan they feel completely secure.
UK Immigration minister speaking on the occasion said that his country is working to improve their visa system. He said UK is an attractive place for business but we will not tolerate illegal immigrants
He said we are getting complete cooperation from the Pakistani govt.
Saeeda Warsi speaking on the occasion said that she has brought an invitation for Interior Minister to come to UK for ongoing strategic dialogue withj UK. She said that we and our generations have great relations with Pakistan.
