MQM delegation met with jamat islami leadership and PML-F chief Peer pagara and discussed current political situation.
Jamaat-e-Islami and MQM Tuesday discussed the current political situation and agreed that all the political parties should strive to meet the challenges confronting the country.
This was stated by MQM Deputy Convenor and Federal Minister Dr Farooq Sattar and JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch while talking to the media at Mansoorah after a meeting between delegations of two parties.
MQM parliamentarians Haider Abbas Rizvi, Iqbal Muhammed Ali, Shaheen Gilani and JI Deputy Secretary General Dr Farid Piracha also were present.
Farooq Sattar said that both the parties had common stand to make efforts to bring the country out of crises for the sake of national solidarity and sovereignty.
Dr Farooq Sattar appreciated the JI stance of opposing feudalism in the country and initiating pro people politics to overcome poverty and price-hike.
The MQM leader also stressed the need for ignoring the past differences between the two parties and said his party wanted to remain in touch with the JI for common goals in the larger interest of the country.
Liaqat Baloch agreed with the MQM leader that the two parties should be in touch with each other in the larger interest of the country. Baloch added that JI is ready to join hands with all political forces on the agenda of providing relief to the common man and the national security.
Earlier Federal Minister and a leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Babar Ghauri said on Tuesday his party was contacting all political elements in order to resolve problems of the people.
He said this while talking to media after calling on Chief of Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F), Pir Pagara at Kingri House.
He said MQM believes in peace and it is contacting all political forces to resolve problems of the people. Earlier, he held an-hour-long meeting with the head of the Functional-League.
They discussed the prevailing political situation in the country, inflation, poverty, unemployment, law and order and other matters of mutual interest.
Babar Ghauri said his purpose for meeting Pir Pagaro is to promote contacts between the parties.
He said Sindh is a land of peace but some people want to disturb it which, he said will be thwarted with the unity of all political entities including the PML-F.
“We will continue to work jointly with Pir Pagaro for development of the Sindh province,” said Babar Ghauri.
He told a questioner that “we have no adversary and contacts with political parties is a routine exercise but the actual purpose is to find solution to problems of the people.”
The minister said that the people have given mandate to his party and it will continue to work for their welfare.
Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Minister, Imtiaz Sheikh said “we are in regular contact with the MQM and this process will continue in the future”.
Member of Rabita Committee, Wasey Jaleel, Haq Parast Group Parliamentary Party Leader in Sindh Assembly, MPA Syed Sardar Ahmed, Sindh Minister, Adil Siddiqi and PML-F leader, Imtiaz Sheikh were also present on the occasion.
