After the sacking of Federal Minister of Science and Technology, Muhammad Azam Swati, the Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F) has decided to quit the government.
After an emergency meeting in Islamabad, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, announced that his party will quit the government.
“It is impossible to stay in the coalition. We are saying goodbye to the government” Fazlur Rehman told reporters after a party meeting.
Fazlur Rehman said that his party was not taken into confidence on the matter of Swati’s sacking.
He also said that the party cannot continue the process of reconciliation in the circumstances and that the decision to quit is final and will not be taken back.
Rehman said that ministers of JUI-F will resign while they will continue to hold their positions in different committees.
Maulana Sheerani will remain the chairman of Islamic Ideological Council.
